GUESS SONG GAME · THE DETAILS

About

For the moment you hear a tiny piece of music and think, “I know this one.”

GuessSongGame is an independent web project, operated under the GuessSongGame name. It offers short listening challenges and a word-based companion game. Both are free, with no paid subscriptions. Third-party players may show advertising or require their own sign-in.

Our current collection

There are currently 5 enabled recordings. Public-domain and Creative Commons recordings provide a fallback collection alongside a small SoundCloud trial. Enabled, playable and permission-verified are separate states. Embedding a recording does not establish permission to use it in a game.

Hosted excerpts are cropped from one fixed point, converted to mono and adjusted in level under the stated source license. SoundCloud tracks play through the official player; we do not download or host those audio files. Embedded clue lengths are approximate, and availability can vary by region or change without notice. The official player may show the song title.

A fair little challenge

Scores are calculated by the game service. Embedded trial and failure-replacement rounds are saved but excluded from rankings and streaks. Disabling a recording keeps completed scores. Fewer attempts earn more points, and replays are free. Daily puzzles reset at midnight UTC. Your anonymous browser identity saves rounds, scores and streaks. There is no cross-device account or identity recovery in this version.

Privacy Policy explains the data we store. Terms of Use explains use of the service and recordings.
